Savannah Smiles....Here is her story. We received a phone call from a local shelter begging for our help. The shelter was full. When we arrived at the shelter all the dogs were greeting us at their kennel door, barking, wagging tails except one. Savannah laid quietly in the back of her kennel on her bed. She had the saddest face, no smiles, no tail wags. We knelt down asked her..."What's wrong, don't she like us"? She slowly stood up and came to the kennel door, sat and put her paw in our hand. She had been at the shelter so long she had given up hope....SHE was the one we needed to save. We knew she was heartworm positive and that should not be a death sentence for such a gentle loving soul.
She has proven to be the most awesome loving dog. She is a gentle giant. She came to us completely housebroken, knows sit, and shake and wait. She is very calm and laid back and gets along with dogs of all sizes and genders and cats as well. She just wants to be at your side.
She is currently being treated for heartworms. Once treated she can have a long and happy life just like any other dog.
