Meet Olive! This cute 16-lb chiweenie girl is looking for her forever home, where she will be loved and given time and patience to learn to trust.

Olive needs a home without children or cats, and would be fine with 1 or 2 canine siblings. She needs time to decompress in a new home, so crating is a must. Thankfully, she does really well in her crate!

Olive is a great example of the rule of threes: 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn the routine, and 3 months to feel at home. The first few days of being in a new home, she really needs that time to watch and observe. She doesn't trust right away, and when scared, she may attempt to nip. She will need to go out for potty time, but other than that, the crate is the best place for her to be, where she will feel safe.

After a few days, she will start settling in more. She really wants to make sure she is safe and able to be herself, which is super snuggly and goofy! This girl can be so goofy! She loves to wriggle around on her back like a worm, loves squeaky toys, and most of all, she loves to be next to you! She has such a delightful personality and loves to amuse!

Olive is house trained and crate trained. In her almost 4 months in foster, she has had only one accident and that was in her crate. She is quick to potty when you take her out on a leash. She does bark some, but usually settles down if told to settle. She is very smart and learns quickly, and is a lot of fun to work with.

Olive is currently in treatment for heartworms as she is unfortunately HW positive. Until mid-March, she will need to be heavily restricted on activity.
