My owner had to go away, they said she needed rest in a special home and she couldn’t take of me anymore. I lived with for 12 years of my life. Her kids didn’t want me so they took me to this place that was scary and loud. I had to sleep on a cold hard floor that smelled like other dogs. I was keep in a cage and I could hear other dogs crying and barking. I didn’t understand what was happening. Where was my person. I was very very sad because who would want a old dog like me. Then one day some people called a rescue came and got me. I was very scared at first but they gave me a warm bath and made me smell good. They gave me a soft bed to lay on and yummy food for my tummy. They even gave me treats. They took me to a doctor who checked my blood. He says I have heartworms that you get from mosquito bites but my rescue said don’t worry, we will make those heartworms go away. I’m very happy in my Foster home but I hope to have my own  family some day soon. Love Abby
