Welcome to STFFAR

ST Furever Freedom Animal Rescue (hereby referred to as STFFAR) (and it's officers, board of directors, volunteers, affiliated entities, and/or agents) shall not be liable for adopter on any theory of legal liability including but not limited to the negligence of STFFAR (and it's officers, board of directors, volunteers, affiliated entities, and/or agents) for any injury, death or damage directly or indirectly caused by the pet. Adopter does nearby release STFFAR (and it's officers, board of directors, volunteers, affiliated entities, and/or agents) from any and all liability claim, suits, obligations, demands or cause of action, known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, arising out of or relating in any way to pet or STFFAR pet release to adopter. It is the expressed intention of adopter and STFFAR that the release provided for in this paragraph is designed and intended to protect STFFAR (and it's officers, board of directors, volunteers, affiliated entities, and/or agents) from any personal injury claims by the adopter or others and from the consequences of any harm, behavior, or other action by pet, and fro the consequences of any act or omission or negligence on the part of STFFAR (and it's officers, board of directors, volunteers, affiliated entities, and/or agents) in obtaining custody of pet, providing care for pet, in training or not training pet, or in failing to provide timely or adequate warning to any person concerning the pet.*

Adopter further promises, covenants and agrees to pay an adoption fee in regards to this adoption prior to the transfer of said pet to the Adopter. The adoption fee is non-refundable even if the pet is returned to STFFAR. However, there is a one week grace period in which we allow adjustment for the pet to your home and routine. If during that one week period you find the pet is not happy, or not a good fit for your home, we will refund half of the adoption fee upon surrender of the pet. *

Adopter further promises, covenants and agrees to never sell, trade, or give away this pet to anyone. I will never relinquish this pet to any shelter or pound, whether "no-kill" or otherwise. I will notify STFFAR if I am unable or unwilling to keep this pet for any reason, and I will return this pet to STFFAR after arrangements have been made for such return. You will be asked to continue fostering until such arrangements are made. If you are unable to foster we ask that you help find a temporary home such as boarding for the pet until we secure a foster at your expense. If this pet is lost or stolen, I will notify STFFAR immediately. I will reclaim this pet promptly, and pay any required fees if it is picked up by an animal control agency. If this dog is over stolen, or lost, adopter agrees that he/she will take all reasonable steps to find the pet. Such reasonable steps include, but are not limited to, posting signs in the vicinity of where the pet went missing, checking area pounds and shelters, as well as utilizing internet resources to alert the area of missing/stolen pets.*

Adopter further promises, covenants and agrees that all future medical and health maintenance treatments are my responsibility, unless STFFAR has specifically agreed in writing to pay them under the "special provisions" portion of this contract. I will seek immediate veterinary care if this pet becomes ill or is injured. I understand that this is for the lifetime of the pet. I will administer monthly heart worm preventative year around for this pet. If the pet is heart worm positive, I understand that Heartguard brand, or ivermectin is the only preventative that may be administered as any other type could cause the pet to become seriously ill and die. If the pet is heart worm positive, I will follow a heart worm treatment plan as recommended by my veterinarian. *

Adopter further promises, covenants and agrees to keep all immunizations current and updated according to veterinarian's schedule. Additionally, I will bring my pet in for regular check ups according to veterinarians recommended schedule. *

Adopter further promises, covenants and agrees to keep the pet primarily indoors, interacting with my family, and will not be banished to the back yard. I will never tie my pet to a chain or rope or leave him/her unattended for long periods of time. If the pet is a dog, they will be exercised in a fenced yard, or on a leash, and not be allowed to roam the streets. *

Adopter further promises, covenants and agrees that the pet shall not be physically altered in any manner (docking tails, cropping ears, de-clawin etc.) with the exception of spay/neutering. If the animal is not spayed or neutered, this must be done in a timely manner as indicated under the special provisions section of the contract. If you do not spay or neuter your pet as indicated it will be reclaimed by STFFAR. *

Adopter further promises, covenants and agrees that a rabies and ID tag will be kept on the animal at all times. Cats will only wear a breakaway collar specifically designed for cats.*

Adopter further promises, covenants and agrees that STFFAR does not make any guarantees regarding the age, nature, temperament, or health of this pet. Adopter assumes all risks and responsibility including the financial responsibility of ownership of this pet once he/she is in my possession and that STFFAR is not in any way responsible for such cost incurred. *

Adopter further promises, covenants and agrees that if I fail to fully and timely comply with the terms of this contract, I will, voluntarily, and immediately release ownership, possession, custody and control of this pet to STFFAR. If I fail to do so, STFFAR will be entitled to enforce specific performance of this contract in addition to any other legal remedy available to STFFAR. *

Adopter further promises, covenants and agrees that all information in the previously filled out Adoption Application is true, complete and correct. I agree that any false of misleading statement thereon will constitute as a breach of this contract. If any information contained don the Adopter's Adoption Application is untrue, Adopter expressly agrees that STFFAR may retake custody of the pet without refunding adoption fee and without recourse by Adopter and Adopter agrees to relinquish such pet to STFFAR. *

Adopter further promises, covenants and agrees to allow STFFAR to use the photo taken at the adoption of the pet, along with any photography I provide to STFFAR, quotes, and information about this adoption in a written story, on their website, on social media platforms, through press releases and other forms of media communications. Specific information about yourself (such as your full name) will be kept private if requested. *

Adopter further promises, covenants and agrees that I will make every effort to welcome a new pet and understand that there is always an adjustment period and that my new animal may not be perfect right away. If I do not allow the allotted week adjustment period, I understand that my adoption fee may not be refunded and will be held to the discretion of the rescue.*
